Digital Proof of Delivery

Digital Proof of Delivery (POD) is the electronic proof that a delivery took place: the recipient’s signature, a photo, the date, time and location captured directly in the driver’s app, instead of the classic hand-signed paper note.

How it works

At the point of delivery, the driver records the outcome in the app: on-screen signature, photo of the parcel or location, any notes (e.g. left with a neighbour). The data is uploaded in real time to the platform and linked to the job, integrating with fleet tracking and GPS location.

Why it matters

Digital POD removes paper, cuts disputes (“it never arrived”), speeds up invoicing and gives immediate visibility of completed deliveries. It’s a building block of last-mile efficiency: for the concrete benefits, see Digital Proof of Delivery: why paper costs more than you think.

FAQ

What’s the difference between paper and digital POD?

Paper POD is the hand-signed note, to be archived and retrieved manually. Digital POD captures signature, photo and data in real time, searchable and linked to the delivery.

Does digital POD hold up as proof?

Yes: electronic signature, photo, timestamp and geolocation make for robust, traceable proof of delivery that’s harder to dispute than paper.
